I am a sophomore at Harvard College on the Pre-Medical Track, planning to pursue a concentration in Cognitive Neuroscience and Evolutionary Psychology and a secondary field in Global Health and Health Policy. I seek to especially explore the intersection of these two fields—particularly in terms of mental health and prejudice development. I resonate especially with Voltaire’s quote that “4,000 volumes of metaphysics will not teach us what the soul is.” We better understand the world around us by meeting people from diverse backgrounds and through others’ life stories. Through advocacy, theater, and public health, I hope to develop interpersonal relationships to broaden her empathy and understanding of our diverse world.
I am a native New Yorker and, currently, a part of the New York Advocacy Group for the American Childhood Cancer Organization. I tutor students in Ukraine through the program ENGin, and I am a leader in my community's Students Demand Action Group as well as the Gay-Straight Alliance Club. I spend my free time playing tennis, writing music, performing musical theater, spending time with my family, reading, watching Grey's Anatomy, and of course, making websites (okay, maybe not). My experiences have shaped me into a passionate advocator —especially for topics like Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a disease I was unfortunately diagnosed with in 2020. Such an obstacle empowered me to become an advocate for health topics and found a nonprofit called Public Health PHC (www.publichealthphc.com).
